FINANCIAL INFRACTIONS: OGUN ASSEMBLY DIRECTS COMMISSION TO EFFECT SUMMONS ON LG OFFICIALS

Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption has called on the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission to formally communicate its summons to all councils' officials involved in the various financial infractions observed in the process of the consideration of the audit reports on the local government councils in the State. The Committee Chairman, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi issued the directive while concluding the consideration of the 2014-2019 audit reports on the 20 Local Government Councils, saying the concerned officials were to provide  further clarifications on the record books of the affected councils before the State lawmakers. OGHA CONDEMNS UNWARRANTED KILLINGS BY CUSTOMS, MOURNS SHONEKAN, OLOFIN OF ADO-ODO

Ogun State House of Assembly has condemned the gruesome killings of law-abiding and innocent residents of the State by men of the Nigeria Customs Service, especially in the border communities under the guise of curbing smuggling of rice into the country. Consequently, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has challenged heads of security agents in the State to call their men to order with a view to reflecting attitudinal change and imbibe the standard rule of engagements to stop avoidable killings in the course of their operations. Oluomo, gave the charge while responding to the remarks of a member representing Yewa North I State Constituency, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju under Personal Explanations at the resumption of plenary today after the new year recess by lawmakers, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
