FINANCIAL INFRACTIONS: OGHA SUMMONS THREE FORMER LANDS DGs, WARNS OFFICIALS AGAINST SABOTAGE

In continuation of the consideration of 2015-2019 audit queries, the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee has sum moned three former Directors General, Bureau of Lands and Survey and other officials who served in the Bureau between 2015- 2019 to appear before the Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption on Thursday, 15th September, 2022. This was just as the Assembly issued stern warning to the officials of the Bureau against hoarding files and other supporting documents that could hinder the Committee from discharging its constitutional roles of ensuring accountability and transparency in government finances and operations. FINANCIAL INFRACTIONS: OGUN ASSEMBLY RE-INVITES FORMER DG LANDS TO APPEAR ON WEDNESDAY

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption has stated that the need to address some unresolved financial infractions contained in the 2015-2019 audit report on the record books of the Bureau of Lands and Survey necessitates the Assembly to re-invite a former Director General, State Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Biyi Ismail to re-appear before the lawmakers on Wednesday, 31st August, 2022.  The Chairman of the Committee, Musefiu Lamidi issued the directive in continuation of the consideration of the 2015- 2019 audit report of the Bureau, which was halted based on the fact that the former Director General took excuse during the COVID19 pandemic. INCESSANT CRASHES: OGUN ASSEMBLY MOVES TO REGULATE MOVEMENT OF TIPPERS, LORRIES

In its resolve to checkmate the incessant road crashes that often lead to loss of lives and properties of road users and pedestrians, the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation has signed a memorandum of understanding alongside the leaderships of the various representatives of Associations operating trucks, tippers and lorries in the State. Consequently, the concerned stakeholders including the representatives of Ajowa Tipper/Lorry Owners and Drivers Association, First Nigeria Tipper Drivers Association,  Temidire Tipper/Lorry Drivers Association, Newborn Owners and Drivers Association and State Unified Trailers and Tippers Owners and Drivers Association (OGSUTTODA) jointly signed the memorandum of understanding to regulate their members' operation at the instance of the Assembly to curb the menace. OGUN SET TO DELIVER ADDITIONAL 224 HOUSING UNITS

Determined to accommodate the demand of subscribers, the Ogun State Government has allocated 27.6 hectares of land for the construction of phase 3  Prince Court Estate, Kobape in  Obafemi -Owode Local Government Area of the State. Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi in a news release signed by the Ministry's Press Officer, Mrs. Adeola Adebajo, noted that the success which was recorded after delivery of phases 1 and 2 necessitated the commencement of phase 3. Leading other officials to the site, Omoniyi said the Ministry had cleared and begun setting out 224 housing units for the proposed two-bedroom expansible houses, saying the project would be delivered in six months. The Commissioner noted that over 500 applications were received during the construction of phases 1 and 2, but only 300 applicants were able to get their allocation based on a first-come, first-served policy. OGUN ASSEMBLY TO SCREEN TWO ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONER-NOMIINEES ON WEDNESDAY

Ogun State House of Assembly has invited the two additional commissioner-nominees,  Hon. Femi Ilori and Mr. Jamiu Kolawole Odetoogun,whose names were contained in the recent list forwarded to the Assembly by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to appear before the State Lawmakers for screening on Wednesday, 17th of  August, 2022. A release by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Mr. 'Deji Adeyemo, indicated that the screening would hold at the Assembly's Conference Room 215 at 2:30pm prompt. The release enjoined all the nominees to submit thirty copies each of their Curriculum Vitae and Credentials to the Office of the Clerk of the House by 12 noon.

PROFESSIONALS HAIL GOV. ABIODUN ON APPOINTMENT OF NEW MAPOLY RECTOR

A group of professional indigenes including bureaucrats and technocrats from Ogun State under the aegis of Ketu Professionals have lauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for appointment of Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, an Ogun West indigene as the substantive Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.  The group in a personal letter addressed to the State Governor by its President, Gbenga Fabuyi   obtained by newsmen,  noted that the appointment of the new Rector had further reinforced the Governor's knack for the recruitment of thorough-bred and competent hands into the management of the affairs of the State in different spheres towards delivering quality dividends of democracy to the people.
