OGUN ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE TASKS LG CHAIRMEN ON PROMOTION OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption has considered the years 2021 and 2022 audit reports on the Ado-Odo/Ota and Ijebu North Local Government Councils, admonishing the councils to always uphold the tenets of accountability and transparency in managing their financial records. The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Damilare Bello, gave the charge while playing host to the management teams of the councils during the ongoing session of the consideration of audit reports on Local Government Councils in the State at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. OGUN ASSEMBLY URGES RELEVANT MDAs TO SAFEGUARD PUBLIC UTILITIES, CONGRATULATES PARAMOUNT RULER OF YEWALAND

Concerned by the recent cases of vandalization and theft of public assets, especially road furniture and iron barricades on overhead bridges in some parts of Ogun State, the State House of Assembly has called on all concerned Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government to put in place measures towards securing all public assets and utilities. This was just as the Assembly equally challenged the people of the State to be more vigilant and report perceived or occurring cases of vandalism of public property to the security agencies. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide made the call while responding to the submission of a member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, who is also the Assembly's Deputy Chief Whip, Hon.
