MID- YEAR APPRAISAL: OGUN LAWMAKERS COMMEND AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT MINISTRIES ON FOOD PRODUCTION, FLOOD PREVENTION

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Agriculture have acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture in ensuring massive food production towards achieving food security to mitigate the effects of food inflation in the State and by extension the nation .  The members of the Committee led by the Chairman, Hon. Waliu Owode, made the observation while the Management of the Ministry took turn to present its half year budget performance before the State lawmakers at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  Hon. Owode also commended the Management team of the Ministry led by the Commissioner, Mr. Bolu Owootomo, for the achievements recorded in the Ministry within the period under assessment, urging them to do more at ensuring food security in the State. AFFORESTATION: OGUN ASSEMBLY LAUDS MINISTRY OF FORESTRY

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have commended the State Ministry of Forestry for embarking on aggressive afforestation resulting in the plantation of over a million economic trees and protection of forest reserves in the State.  The members led by the Chairman, House Committee on Forestry, Hon. OGUN ASSEMBLY BEGINS MID- YEAR BUDGET PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL OF MDAs ON MONDAY

Ogun State House of Assembly will on Monday, 22nd July, 2024  begin the mid- year budget performance appraisal of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government in the State to ascertain their level of compliance with the 2024 Appropriation Law. A release by the Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, indicated that the exercise which is part of the oversight functions of the legislative arm of Government in promoting accountability, transparency with the purpose of creating value for government resources is in consonance with sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). According to the release, the budget performance assessment would commence at 10:00am daily and end on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 The release enjoined all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of government to make available all relevant documents and information to ensure the success of the exercise.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY: OGUN ASSEMBLY USING LEGISLATIVE INSTRUMENTS IN PROMOTING GOOD GOVERNANCE
