OGUN TO HARNESS MORE DEVELOPMENTAL INITIATIVES ON TOURISM

Towards redefining its tourism approach for sustainability, Ogun State Government says it will continue to harness a clear implementation framework, adequate financing, technology investments, infrastructure and human resources, among others. The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made this known at the 45th World Tourism Day celebration at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, with the theme: “Rethinking Tourism”, saying government appreciates the capacity of tourism as a viable means to economic diversification. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun stated that his administration had invested heavily in capacity building of tourism personnel to broaden their knowledge and increase productivity. I MAINTAIN MY INNOCENCE, ALLOW COURT TO DECIDE, OGUN SPEAKER REPLIES BLACKMAILERS

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Olakunle Oluomo says he maintained his innocence in the recent Economic and Financial Crimes Commission charges against him  and will want the court to decide because  the hyperbolic nature of the petitions written by the impeached former Deputy Speaker, Dare Kadiri was also reflected in the charges.  Oluomo stated this today in a release he personally signed shortly after resuming at his Oke-Mosan office after a few days away with the EFCC.  According to the Speaker, "by law, I am not the Accounting Officer of the House, for emphasis, the House under my leadership operates only one bank account  since 2019, through which running cost and allowances are paid directly into the bank accounts of individual  Honourable members and staff of the House including the petitioner. OGUN ASSEMBLY PUBLIC ACCOUNT COMMITTEE COMMENDS MINISTRY ON HOUSING DELIVERY

Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-corruption has examined the 2020 financial records of the State Ministry of Housing, commending the management team for the various housing projects delivered across the State. The Chairman of the Committee, Musefiu Lamidi, gave the commendation during the appearance of the Ministry's team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Hon. Tajudeen Egunjobi in continuation of the consideration of Audit report held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The Chairman in company of other members including Abdul Bashir Oladunjoye, Abayomi Fasuwa, Yusuf Amosun and Kunle Sobukanla implored them to further ensure improved adherence to financial regulations through proper retirement of payment vouchers, classification of expenditures, updating fixed assets and contractors' register.
