WINDSTORM: OGUN ASSEMBLY INVITES SPECIAL DUTIES COMMISSIONER, ENGAGES OTHERS

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly today held an interactive session with the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi  Arigbabu, and the Management teams of other related agencies towards finding a lasting measure towards addressing the havoc caused by the effect of natural disaster. OGHA ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMITTEE BEGINS CONSIDERATION OF 2023 AUDIT REPORTS, TAKES ON INFORMATION MINISTRY

Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Public Accounts and Anti- Corruption today began the consideration of the 2023 audit reports on Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the State government with a call on the heads of MDAs to make themselves available for the exercise which is meant to scrutinise how effectively public money had been expended and whether value for money has been achieved. The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions led by Hon. Barrister Oluseun Adesanya, has directed the Management of Zama Plastics Industry FZE to return all share capitals and rights accrued to a chairman back to Zeng Yan, an aggrieved partner, who is also a chinese national and investor in the Ogun-Guandong Free Trade Zone. The House Committee also extended an invite to the management of the Ogun-Guandong Free Trade Zone to appear before the Committee next week Tuesday, 4th March, 2025 for further interface on the matter. OGHA REQUESTS INDIGENOUS FIRMS' PARTICIPATION IN LAFARGE CEMENT DIVESTMENT, SEEKS REHABILITATION OF OKE- ERI ROAD

Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution requesting the need to ensure the indigenous participation in the divestment of Lafarge Cement Plc to safeguard the State economic and environmental interest. The passage of the resolution was consequent upon the debate on the motion led by the House Committee Chairman on Commerce and Industry, who is also the sponsor, Hon. LAND DEALING: OGHA REFERS PETITION AGAINST ASHIMOLOWO TO HOUSE COMMITTEES, SEEKS RELIEF FOR DISASTER VICTIMS

Ogun State House of Assembly today refered a petition against one Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo on the sale of land at Bluestone Garden City, on allegation  bordering on harassment and intimidation in the course of land business transactions with the Arc- View investment limited as petitioned by its CEO, Segun Oshundairo to the House Committees on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions as well as Lands and Housing. OGUN HOUSE PASSES RESOLUTION TO IMMORTALIZE ONANUGA, PAYS TRIBUTES TO FOUR OTHER EMINENT NIGERIANS

Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution calling on the State Government to immortalise the late former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga by renaming the Court junction- Simawa road and some of her projects in her honour. The passage of the resolution followed the debate led by the sponsor of the motion, who is also a member representing Sagamu one State Constituency, Hon. BILL TO REGULATE SCAVENGERS' ACTIVITIES SCALES SECOND READING IN OGUN, AS OGHA LEGISLATE ON FARMERS CLUB

A bill seeking to regulate the activities of scavengers and waste dealers in Ogun State so as to promote public order, environmental safety and peaceful co-existence  today scaled second reading on the floor of the Assembly after the State lawmakers debated extensively on the desirability of the bill. Hon. ( Dr.) Babatunde Tella, who was the sponsor, opened debate on the bill titled: "H.B. No. 020/ OG/ 2025 - Scavengers and Waste Dealers Regulation Law, 2025", shortly after moving a motion for its second reading, and was seconded by Hon. Samsideen Lawal and supported by all the lawmakers. Hon. The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has described the transition of the late Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo as a depletion in the ranks of revered monarchs, who through their actions, deeds and relationship often preserve cultural legacies, goodwill and nobility in the service to the society as exemplified by the late monarch in  service to the people of Remoland.  Elemide stated this during a condolence visit to the Council of Chiefs in company of his colleague-lawmakers and the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service, Adebakin Sakiru, at the Alaperu Palace in Iperu. OGUN ASSEMBLY PROMISES TO ADDRESS PENSION LAW TO ADDRESS GREY AREAS

Ogun State House of Assembly through the House Committee on Establishments and Public Service Matters Chaired by Hon. Babatunde Tella, has assured the Joint Action Committee of Pensioners in Ogun State owned Tertiary Institutions that the Assembly would look into amending the State Pension Law of 2013 to address areas of concerns by the pensioners. Hon. Tella who made the promise, while addressing the members of the Joint Action Committee of Pensioners in the State Owned Tertiary Institutions also assured that Assembly would collaborate with the State Government on how best to address the issue of pension payable to the affected pensioners. OGHA CHALLENGES NSCDC TO SUSTAIN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL SECURITY OUTFITS FOR EFFICIENCY

Ogun State House of Assembly has challenged the State command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) to sustain its collaboration with all local security outfits in the State including the Amotekun Corps, So Safe Corps, Vigilante Service and Hunters Association to ensure effective security network for the protection of physical infrastructure, farmlands particularly in securing lives and properties of the residents of the State. The Speaker, Rt. Hon.
