OGHA FORMER DEPUTY MINORITY LEADER DEFECTS TO APC, AS LAWMAKERS CONDOLE ANTHONY JOSHUA, FAMILIES OVER FATAL ACCIDENT

 Ogun State House of Assembly has received a formal notification from a former Deputy Minority Leader , and member representing Abeokuta South one State Constituency, Hon. Lukman Atobatele, announcing his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) citing internal conflict and lack of a clear direction from the PDP Leadership as part of the reasons for his defection. Reading Atobatele's correspondence today during the plenary, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, disclosed that the lawmaker attributed his defection to “internal crises, leadership disputes, and a lack of clear direction” within the People's Democratic Party at both national and State levels. OGHA CONCLUDES 2026 BUDGET DEFENCE BY MDAs, STRESSES QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY, AS OGIRS TARGETS N250BN NEXT YEAR

Ogun State House of Assembly has concluded the defence of the 2026 budget proposals by the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government in the State with a clear message to all the MDAs to ensure that public resources are planned, allocated and utilised in a transparent, efficient and impartial manner to promote quality service delivery. OGHA INSPECTS SITE IN OBAFEMI-OWODE, WARNS AGAINST ROAD BLOCKAGE, DIRECTS PHYSICAL PLANNING MINISTRY TO ENFORCE MASTER PLAN

Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has conducted an on-the-spot assessment on the fencing of the public access road linking Eredo-Alase and other six neighbouring villages in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, following its earlier warning against the alleged closure of the road serving the villages. The House Committee members led by Hon. Samsideen Lawal, during an on the spot assessment visit to the site today directed the State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development to immediately move into the site to enforce compliance to the State Master Plan by the said company, and ensure that the existing road leading to the six villages in the axis is not affected by the controversial fencing by the company in the area. Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Finance and Appropriations chaired by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, has directed the State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) to immediately address the indiscriminate parking of vehicles under the Kuto Flyover in Abeokuta, and enforce compliance to traffic rules to restore orderliness around the Kuto Roundabout to enhance public safety and traffic flow in the area. The Committee gave the directive during the ongoing 2026 budget defence by Ministries, Departments and Agencies while taking on the Ministry of Transportation, at the Assembly, Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. OGHA CONFIRMS GOVERNOR’S NOMINEE FOR AUDITOR-GENERAL FOR LG, PASSES BILL ON AGRICULTURAL LAND MANAGEMENT AGENCY

Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Mr. Abdul-Nojeem Olayinka it earlier screened to be appointment as the new Auditor-General for Local Governments. The confirmation of Olayinka's appointment followed the adoption of the report of the Committee of the whole House presented by the Deputy Speaker Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi, seconded by the Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye and supported by the whole House through a voice vote. OGUN ASSEMBLY SOLICITS INCREASED RELEASE OF FUNDING FOR HEALTH SECTOR TO AID 2026 BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION

Members of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, representing Ado-Odo/Ota II State Constituency, has solicited increase and prompt release of funds for the State Ministry of Health and its allied agencies to so as to achieve better budget implementation in the next fiscal year. Ogun State House of Assembly will from Monday, 15th to Tuesday, 22nd December, 2025 play host to Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in the State for the defence of the 2026 Appropriation Bill commencing from 10.00am each day.  A release signed by the Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service,  Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, enjoined all Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government to abide by their schedules for the exercise.

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Housing has invited Hon. Mutiu Adedeji, alleged agent to Mr. Moshood Olatokunbo, alongside the petitioner’s lawyer, Mr. Bukola Howells, to appear before it with all supporting documents on the ongoing land dispute at Jibowu Village in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area. OGUN GOVERNOR PRESENTS N1.669TRN 2026 APPROPRIATION BILL, SETS DEVELOPMENT AGENDA ON SUSTAINABLE LEGACY, AS SPEAKER HIGHLIGHTS MILESTONES

  Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has presented the Year 2026 Appropriation Bill of N1,668,997,993,125.44 before members of the State House of Assembly, with N624.76bn proposed as recurrent expenditure and N1.044tn allocated to capital expenditure. This next year budget, christened the: “Budget of Sustainable Legacy,” was presented during the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide. Giving the breakdown of the 2026 fiscal expenditure plan, the Governor explained that personnel costs would take N167.92bn;  while consolidated revenue charges were pegged at N65.80bn, with public debt charges put at N99.98bn; just as overhead costs would gulp N291.06bn, with N1.044tn meant to take care of capital projects.
