OGHA PASSES EDUCATION AND SKILLS TRUST FUND BILL, AS BOUNDARY COMMISSION, GEOINFORMATICS BILLS SCALE SECOND READING

Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a bill seeking to establish the the State Education and Skills Trust Fund, following the conclusion of its third reading at plenary, marking a significant step towards strengthening education infrastructure and skills development in the State. The bill, titled: "H.B. No. 034/OG/2024 – A Bill for a Law to Establish the Ogun State Education and Skills Trust Fund for Rejuvenating Education Infrastructure and Facilitating Skills and for other Connected Purposes", was considered and adopted after the presentation of the report by the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Yusuf Amosun. Amosun later moved the motion for the adoption of the report, seconded by Hon. OGUN ASSEMBLY WARNS AGAINST DAMAGE TO PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE, PASSES RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISED PHYSICAL PLANNING REGULATIONS

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has cautioned members of the public against indiscriminate dumping of refuse and misuse of road shoulders for dropping building materials thereby hindering free flow of traffic. The Speaker gave the warning in response to the presentation by a member representing Sagamu II State Constituency, Hon. Ademola Adeniran, who reported the cases of indiscriminate dumping of building materials on road shoulders for months by some residents in his constituency and some other parts of the State for months, which had continued to constitute nuisance to road users. Adeniran, who spoke under a matter of urgent public concern at a plenary session, sought the need for immediate action to prevent continued damage to public infrastructure According to him, the practice had continued to damage road infrastructure, hindering maintenance efforts and affecting traffic movement in the affected areas. Ogun State House of Assembly today organised a one-day capacity building seminar for Honourable Members on time management as a crucial skill for effective nation building. Declaring the seminar open at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, represented by Hon. Lukman Adeleye, stressed the importance of effective time management and continuous capacity building, urging participants to remain focused in order to enhance their knowledge, understanding and overall contribution to nation building.
