TORAN LAUDS GOVERNOR ABIODUN ON INAUGURATION OF AMOTEKUN

The Tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria, (TORAN) Ogun State Chapter  has commended the ingenuity of the State Governor, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun-MFR on the inauguration of the State wing of the South-West Joint Security Outfit codename "Operation Amotekun" describing such efforts as a timely defensive response to the litany of crime and criminality.

The Chairman of the Union, Prince Abdulwaasi Agunbiade in a statement signed by the Union's Public Relation Officer, Asiwaju Samson Aluko explained that the formation of the outfit through an extensive decision making process was a right step in the right direction.

The union boss remarked that the decision borne out of consensus with existing security formations, would improve the State's security architecture, adding that it was also a true reflection that Governor Abiodun is being proactive and committed to the effective security of lives of property being the chief security officer of the Gateway State. 

Agunbiade equally commended the decoration of the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Soyinka by the Governor, expressing that the world-ranking playwright and poet would contribute his wealth of expertise to the purely locally-driven outfit.

He expressed optimism that the immediate commencement of operations by the corps would rid the state of criminal elements in its collaborative efforts with other security agencies.

428 OGUN PILGRIMS RETURN FROM HAJJ 2025, LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA

The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise have safely arrived back in Nigeria. The returnees, numbering 428, touched down at exactly 4:28 p.m. Nigerian time (6:28 p.m. Saudi time), following a successful take-off from Jeddah Airport at 12:07 p.m. Saudi time (10:07 a.m. Nigerian time). This development was confirmed in a statement personally signed by the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Ogun State contingent, Alhaji Prince Samsudeen Adebayo Apelogun, who described the return as a significant milestone in the State’s 2025 Hajj operations. OGHA DIRECTS OJIBAS NIGERIA LTD, I.J. AMAKA TO SUSPEND MINING OPERATIONS OVER ROAD, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has directed Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. Amaka Group of Companies at Elegan Progressive Community in Obafemi Owode Local Government, to suspend their operations forthwith, following a petition over alleged illegal mining operations and environmental degradation. The Committee members led by the Chairman, Hon. Samisudeen Lawal, carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the mining sites in response to the petition addressed to the Speaker of the House titled: “Petition Against Illegal Mining Operations of Alhaji Tajudeen Abioye of Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J.
