OGUN TEACHERS CONGRATULATE ABIODUN, URGE HIM ON FULFILLMENT OF ELECTORAL PROMISES

Ogun State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), has congratulated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on his re-election victory at the last Saturday gubernatorial polls.  The Union in a congratulatory letter signed by the State Chairman, Akinola Abiodun and the Secretary, Oyelere Samson urged the Governor to see his victory as a call to do more and serve the people diligently. According to them,"the celebrated victory was divinely arranged by the Supreme Being who always allows the spiritual to control the physical. Your impacts and efforts to satisfy the insatiable that couldn't see beyond personal gains had been rewarded by God Almighty. OGHA ELECTION: OVER-VOTING NOT IN MY UNIT/ WARD- OGUN SPEAKER

The Speaker, Ogun state House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Prince) Olakunle Oluomo says the results of his polling unit was not the one cancelled as rumored in some sections of the media; rather, it was the result of unit 04 of Ifo ward 01 where his opponent belongs that was cancelled due to over-voting.    A statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, AbdulGhaffar Adeleye today in Abeokuta, clarified that "the Speaker voted at unit 19, ward three, while the election was cancelled at unit four, ward one. OGUN COMMISSIONER SUES FOR PEACE, CANVASSES VOTES FOR GOV. ABIODUN

Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, the Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo has enjoined members of staff of the Ministry to embrace peace and good neighborliness; shun any activities that could be inimical to peaceful co-existence in the society.  Oladapo disclosed this during the  monthly interface with the staff held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, saying it was important to always be conscious of one's prospects and therefore not engage in violence before, during and after the elections. OGUN PDP ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS FROM CONTEST, DECLARES SUPPORT FOR APC

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ikenne State Constituency, Hon. Babajide Owodunni has withdrawn from the contest for the forthcoming election schedule for next Saturday. This was just as Owodunni affirmed his unwavering support for the candidacy of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the incumbent member of the State Assembly, Olakunle Sobukanla in the Saturday polls.  Owodunni, in a letter addressed to National Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) explained that his decision to voluntary withdraw from the Assembly's race was "as a result of the frustration given to him by the PDP leaders and the Gubernatorial candidate after his emergence as the PDP Assembly Candidate at the primary Election." He thereafter assured of working assiduously towards supporting the candidates of the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming elections including the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
