RASHEED AROBOTO URGE OGUN YOUTHS TO THINK BEYOND CONVENTIONAL BOUNDARIES...discouraged any involvement in criminal activities

Abeokuta, Ogun State - The June 12 Cultural Center in Kuto, Abeokuta was filled with excitement on Saturday, December 24, 2023, as thousands of youths from Ogun State came together for an annual Empowerment Program organized by Rasheed Aroboto, a former Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Youth & Sports.

The highly anticipated event, which aimed to empower and inspire the youth, featured a wide range of activities. The program kicked off with a thought-provoking Lecture centred around the theme "The Role of Youth in Achieving Sustainable Peace and Development in Ogun State." Esteemed speakers shared insights and actionable strategies to foster peace and development within the state.

In addition to the engaging lecture, the Empowerment Program included sessions on Music, Comedy, Games, Panel Discussion, and a thrilling Raffle Draw. During the Raffle Draw session, hundreds of valuable electronics and food items were distributed amongst the attending youths, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the event.

Rasheed Aroboto, the chairman of the planning committee and the driving force behind the program, delivered an inspiring opening address. He called upon the youth to think beyond conventional boundaries and discouraged any involvement in criminal activities. Aroboto emphasized the importance of unleashing the untapped potential of the youth, urging them to embrace their roles as active contributors to the sustainable peace and development of Ogun State.

The annual Empowerment Program has proven to be a significant platform for youth engagement and empowerment in Ogun State. It not only provides a forum for the youth to learn and be inspired but also offers practical opportunities for them to grow and succeed in various fields. By fostering a sense of responsibility and instilling a spirit of entrepreneurship, the program aims to create a generation of youths dedicated to positive change and development.

Rasheed Aroboto stated further; "the entire organizing committee would like to express their gratitude to all the participants, sponsors, and partners who made the event a resounding success.

"Their unwavering support demonstrates a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of Ogun State's youth and creating an environment conducive to sustainable peace and development.

Aroboto commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his relentless efforts in empowering and uplifting the youth of Ogun State. This unyielding commitment to the welfare and progress of the youth has impressed Aroboto and prompted him to express his profound gratitude for the transformative initiatives introduced by the state government.

Aroboto noted that, under Governor Abiodun's visionary leadership, the state has witnessed a plethora of exceptional youth development programs aimed at nurturing and equipping the younger generation for a brighter future. 

"Governor Abiodun's youth development programs go beyond mere rhetoric; they are backed by concrete actions. Through various skill acquisition and capacity-building initiatives, the government has successfully provided avenues for the youth to acquire knowledge, develop entrepreneurial skills, and amplify their contributions to society. The administration's commitment to creating employment opportunities and promoting youth empowerment serves as a beacon of hope for countless young residents of Ogun State," he said.

428 OGUN PILGRIMS RETURN FROM HAJJ 2025, LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA

The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise have safely arrived back in Nigeria. The returnees, numbering 428, touched down at exactly 4:28 p.m. Nigerian time (6:28 p.m. Saudi time), following a successful take-off from Jeddah Airport at 12:07 p.m. Saudi time (10:07 a.m. Nigerian time). OGHA DIRECTS OJIBAS NIGERIA LTD, I.J. AMAKA TO SUSPEND MINING OPERATIONS OVER ROAD, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has directed Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. Amaka Group of Companies at Elegan Progressive Community in Obafemi Owode Local Government, to suspend their operations forthwith, following a petition over alleged illegal mining operations and environmental degradation.
