OGHA POSTPONES BUDGET PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL FOR MDAs, COMMENCES OVERSIGHT ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILS, OTHERS.



Ogun State House of Assembly has postponed the budget performance appraisal of year 2024 Appropriation Law that was expected to commence on Monday, 22nd 2024.

A release by the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly, Barr. ( Mrs.) Funmi Adeyemi indicated that the oversight had been put on hold in view of other schedules of the Assembly.

The release clarified that the other various Committee works slated for the same period would continue including the ongoing consideration of the Audit reports on Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government by the House Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption which is continuing on Monday, April 22nd, 2024. 

Also, the House Committee on Local  Government and Chieftaincy Affairs' budget performance appraisal on the 20 Local Government Councils will begin on Tuesday, April 23rd , 2024.

428 OGUN PILGRIMS RETURN FROM HAJJ 2025, LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA

The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise have safely arrived back in Nigeria. The returnees, numbering 428, touched down at exactly 4:28 p.m. Nigerian time (6:28 p.m. Saudi time), following a successful take-off from Jeddah Airport at 12:07 p.m. Saudi time (10:07 a.m. Nigerian time). This development was confirmed in a statement personally signed by the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Ogun State contingent, Alhaji Prince Samsudeen Adebayo Apelogun, who described the return as a significant milestone in the State’s 2025 Hajj operations. OGHA DIRECTS OJIBAS NIGERIA LTD, I.J. AMAKA TO SUSPEND MINING OPERATIONS OVER ROAD, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has directed Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. Amaka Group of Companies at Elegan Progressive Community in Obafemi Owode Local Government, to suspend their operations forthwith, following a petition over alleged illegal mining operations and environmental degradation. The Committee members led by the Chairman, Hon. Samisudeen Lawal, carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the mining sites in response to the petition addressed to the Speaker of the House titled: “Petition Against Illegal Mining Operations of Alhaji Tajudeen Abioye of Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J.
