OGUN MDAS TO BEGIN DEFENCE OF 2025 APPROPRIATION ON MONDAY


Ogun State House of Assembly has fixed Monday 16th December, 2024 as the commencement date for the defence of the year 2025 budget proposals by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in the State. 

A release by the Clerk / Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, indicated that the exercise which is in line with Section 121, Sub-section II of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended), would be declared open by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, while the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, would preside over the session through the various standing committees of the Assembly.

The release added that the exercise would run through the week and end on Friday, 20th December, 2024 commencing from 10:00 daily at the Room 215 of the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 

The Clerk stated that the various MDAs should have submitted all relevant documents ahead of the budget defence, while enjoining them to adhere stricly to their scheduled for the exercise.

428 OGUN PILGRIMS RETURN FROM HAJJ 2025, LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA

The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise have safely arrived back in Nigeria. The returnees, numbering 428, touched down at exactly 4:28 p.m. Nigerian time (6:28 p.m. Saudi time), following a successful take-off from Jeddah Airport at 12:07 p.m. Saudi time (10:07 a.m. Nigerian time). This development was confirmed in a statement personally signed by the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Ogun State contingent, Alhaji Prince Samsudeen Adebayo Apelogun, who described the return as a significant milestone in the State’s 2025 Hajj operations. OGHA DIRECTS OJIBAS NIGERIA LTD, I.J. AMAKA TO SUSPEND MINING OPERATIONS OVER ROAD, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has directed Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. Amaka Group of Companies at Elegan Progressive Community in Obafemi Owode Local Government, to suspend their operations forthwith, following a petition over alleged illegal mining operations and environmental degradation. The Committee members led by the Chairman, Hon. Samisudeen Lawal, carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the mining sites in response to the petition addressed to the Speaker of the House titled: “Petition Against Illegal Mining Operations of Alhaji Tajudeen Abioye of Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J.
