428 OGUN PILGRIMS RETURN FROM HAJJ 2025, LAND SAFELY IN NIGERIA

The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise have safely arrived back in Nigeria. The returnees, numbering 428, touched down at exactly 4:28 p.m. Nigerian time (6:28 p.m. Saudi time), following a successful take-off from Jeddah Airport at 12:07 p.m. Saudi time (10:07 a.m. Nigerian time).

This development was confirmed in a statement personally signed by the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Ogun State contingent, Alhaji Prince Samsudeen Adebayo Apelogun, who described the return as a significant milestone in the State’s 2025 Hajj operations. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting all the pilgrims the strength, health, and spiritual depth to complete the sacred pilgrimage and return home safely.
Apelogun reflected on the spiritual depth of the experience, describing the journey as transformative and rich with moments of devotion, unity, and reflection among Muslims from all over the world. He praised Ogun pilgrims for their exemplary conduct, unity, and adherence to protocols throughout the exercise, adding that it was a personal honour to lead such a disciplined group.

He further commended the efforts of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, and other supporting agencies for their dedication to ensuring a smooth operation. Apelogun noted that the timely and safe return of the first batch is a testament to the coordinated planning and teamwork involved.
While reiterating his commitment to overseeing the remaining return phases, the Amirul Hajj offered prayers that the spiritual lessons learned during the Hajj would serve as a guiding light in the lives of all pilgrims, even after their return to Nigeria.
