OGUN ASSEMBLY APPROVES 2026-2028 MEDIUM TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK

  Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the State Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for 2026–2028 earlier forwarded to it by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in preparation for the next fiscal year . The financial framework was approved at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, following the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation by its Chairman, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, who thereafter moved the motion for its adoption; seconded by Hon. Wahab Haruna and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote. The report was subsequently considered and adopted sector by sector, with allocations covering personnel, overhead, and capital expenditures for the State’s various Ministries, Departments and Agencies from the year 2026 to 2028. OGUN ASSEMBLY RECEIVES GOVERNOR ABIODUN’S REQUEST SEEKING APPROVAL FOR 2026–2028 MTEF

 Ogun State House of Assembly has acknowledged a correspondence  from the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun seeking the Assembly's approval for the 2026–2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for the State. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, who read the Governor’s letter  titled: “Request for the approval of the 2026–2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) by the State House of Assembly”, noted that the request was in line with the Ogun State Fiscal Responsibility Law of 2020 (as amended). According to the letter, the Executive Council had considered and endorsed the prepared 2026- 2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework ( MTEF) for the State. The governor therefore urged the Assembly to consider and approve the framework to pave the way for the planning and budgetary process for the 2026 fiscal year and the outer years of 2027 and 2028. OGHA DEPUTY SPEAKER CHAIRS NATIONAL QUIZ ON LEGISLATURE AND DEMOCRACY

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Oludaisi Elemide, has described the National Quiz and Competition on Legislature and Democracy as a vital step towards raising a generation of Nigerians who truly understand democratic values and the responsibilities they entail. Rt. Hon. Elemide, represented by his deputy made the remarks today, while declaring open, the competition organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), and hosted at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.  The Speaker noted that holding the event in the Hallowed Chamber of the Assembly was symbolic, offering participants firsthand exposure to democracy in action. He commended NILDS for its commitment to civic education and encouraged the students to embrace the contest with courage, curiosity, and sportsmanship; encouraging them to see the competition beyond winning, but its values of justice, fairness, and service should guide them as future leaders....

OGHA DIRECTS OJIBAS NIGERIA LTD, I.J. AMAKA TO SUSPEND MINING OPERATIONS OVER ROAD, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment has directed Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. Amaka Group of Companies at Elegan Progressive Community in Obafemi Owode Local Government, to suspend their operations forthwith, following a petition over alleged illegal mining operations and environmental degradation. The Committee members led by the Chairman, Hon. Samisudeen Lawal, carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the mining sites in response to the petition addressed to the Speaker of the House titled: “Petition Against Illegal Mining Operations of Alhaji Tajudeen Abioye of Ojibas Nigeria Limited and I.J. ‎OGUN GOVERNOR COMMENDS DEPUTY SPEAKER AJAYI FOR FACILITATING COMMUNITY DEMAND PROJECTS IN YEWA SOUTH

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi for facilitating projects that are in line with community demand in some parts of her constituency. The Governor, represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION: OGHA DIRECTS MINISTRY TO ENFORCE IMMEDIATE EVACUATION OF STRUCTURE ALONG DRAINAGE PATH AT OGERE

The Ogun State House of Assembly through its Committee on Environment has called on the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development to enforce compliance on a filling station, SGR (formerly Mallo Petroleum), which was built on the waterway, blocking a major drainage system at Ogere Tollgate, thereby causing environmental degradation including the blockage of free flow of waste from surrounding companies. The House Committee chaired by Hon. Samisudeen Lawal, made the call during an on-the-spot assessment visit to a company-New Base World Class Resources Ltd, producers of Mr Fruits beverages, following a petition alleging improper disposal of wastewater.  The Committee Chairman noted that the blocked drainage posed a major environmental and health risk to the community; requesting an immediate action on the matter. ITAOSHIN - IMASAI- ILARO FEDERAL ROAD: OGUN LAWMAKER TELLA CONVENES STAKEHOLDERS MONITORING TEAM

A member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Hon. Babatunde Tella, has convened a stakeholders meeting on the state of the ongoing 51.01km Itaoshin – Ibara-Orile Joga- Imasai - Ilaro Federal Road involving the representatives of the host communities along the road, the Federal Ministry of Works represented by Engr. Babatunde Olasunkanmi.  Others present at the meeting including the contractor handling the project, Strabic Construction, represented by Engr. Tope Ojo and the Commissioner, National Complaints Commission, Mr. Morakinyo Akinleye amongst others. Hon. Tella stated that the meeting which was third in the series of the stakeholders engagement was meant to determine the project duration and length to be covered; stressing the need to find an immediate solution on how the project would ease the human and vehicular movements of the residents of the area. ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION: OGHA COMMITTEE VISITS AFFECTED COMMUNITIES IN IFO 2

In continuation of its oversight on petitions regarding the need to address the environmental degradation caused by the impact of the Lagos State Government Water Pipeline Project which affected communities along Akute, Baale, Alausa and Oke-Aro axis in Ifo 2 State Constituency, the Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions, led by Hon. Oluseun Adesanya today visited the site to assess the level of the degradation. The visit followed earlier meetings with concerned stakeholders including the Lagos Water Corporation, the project contractor -Salini Nigeria Limited and the representatives of residents of the affected communities.
